Fashion fans are flocking to Marks & Spencer to snap up a patterned midaxi dress that is perfect for the warmer months. The Printed Midaxi Tea Dress costs £45 and comes in three different colours and patterns in a ‘gorgeous material’.
With an ecru mix colourway as well as a sunny yellow and sky-blue floral design, the £45 dress is available in short, petite and regular lengths, with sizes ranging from six to 24.
The elegant garment, part of M&S’ iconic Per Una collection, is made from a lightweight viscose material and features an elasticated waist at the back for maximum comfort.
The cut of the dress is dreamy thanks to its fluttery angel sleeves that are airy enough for summer but offer a bit of protection if you don’t feel comfortable having your entire arm on show.
As for the skirt, shoppers can expect a lovely A-line cut that floats down to around the mid-shin, while soft ruching runs down the front of the dress to give it a lovely feminine finish, enhanced by the V-neckline.
What’s more is that this dress also includes side pockets which offers a practicality should you need a place to store your lip balm or other small items.
It doesn’t come as any surprise that, despite being relatively new, the dress has already garnered a 4.7 star rating with a number of shoppers praising its design.
One wrote: “Gorgeous material, saw one colour in store then found a colour I liked more online. Like the style and length, will be lovely and cool in summer.”
Another added: “Lovely shape, fit and colour, sleeves and dress itself good length”
A third stated: “Spotted the blue version online and wasnt sure what size so got 18 and 20. 18 is my size and fits well.” While this particular M&S shopper enjoyed the “nice material” that “feels like crepe” and said: “Pockets fit nicely into dress and not baggy”.
They added: “The hemline is not straight but longer at the sides so could be difficult to shorten if required. Found the V-neckline very low so stitched it up by 2″ and has worked a treat. Don’t like low cut dresses at my age! 4* not 5 due to a very low neckline.”
With a flattering cut, feminine edge and gorgeous design, it’s no wonder the summer-ready midaxi dress is high in demand being sold a number of times in the last 48 hours alone. It’s a great wardrobe staple as it can easily be dressed up or down with the use of accessories and shoes – throw on a denim jacket and some white trainers and you’re casual, add a blazer and some heels and you’re garden party-ready.
Of course if the design isn’t quite your style but you’re a fan of the angel sleeves, there are a number of alternatives on the high street that’ll have you swooning. New Look’s Blue Flower Print Crinkle Flutter Sleeve Midi dress has more of a recognisable pattern and features a flattering fit, £45.99. If you’re after something that’s a bit more vibrant, Dancing Leopard’s Sunset Dot dress that is decorated in a purple and red design is £62 and drapes over your figure beautifully.
For a puff sleeve option that offers an equally as dramatic arm with all the coolness of a summery midi-dress, Nobody’s Child’s cream embroidered linen-blend starlight midi dress is £120.
