Boston and Philadelphia have both jumped out to strong records to begin the NBA season as the two Atlantic Division rivals meet Wednesday in the City of Brotherly Love.
The Celtics have put up several impressive offensive showings so far, highlighted by the 155-point spot in a 51-point home rout of the Pacers on Nov. 1.
Five players are averaging at least 14 points per game, led by Jayson Tatum averaging a shade more than 30 points a contest.
The 76ers lost their opener by two points in Milwaukee, but have rolled since with five straight victories, including a 146-128 home win over the Wizards on Monday.
Celtics vs. 76ers prediction
(7 p.m. ET.)
Joel Embiid is averaging a double-double, while Kelly Oubre is putting up 21 points per game, making 76ers’ fans forget about James Harden quickly.
Boston eliminated Philadelphia in the second round of last season’s playoffs in seven games, while the Celtics also captured three of four regular-season matchups.
The revenge angle is certainly there for the 76ers, but the Celtics won three times in five trips to Philadelphia last season and have more scoring threats than the Sixers currently have.
The Celtics opened as a short road favorite and that line has moved up to two as of this morning.
After Boston fell at Minnesota on Monday, the Celtics should rebound here in this playoff rematch.
