Former NFL wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh filed for a temporary restraining order against a female fan he claimed legally changed her last name to “Houshmandzadeh” due to a years-long “bizarre and extreme obsession” with him.
In court documents, which were filed in Los Angeles and obtained by TMZ, Houshmandzadeh identified the woman as 53-year-old Annette Marie Houshmandzadeh — and claimed she has been harassing him and his family since 2015.
The former Pro Bowl wideout reportedly was granted a restraining order against the fan in 2015, but it expired in 2019.
Houshmandzadeh, 46, said the fan continued harassing him and his family beyond that point, including posing as the mother of his kids online and making contact with his wife, according to the legal docs.
He also alleged the fan sent harassing mail and personal items to his home, one of which contained a letter from the fan, who stated that she had “several bullets inscribed with the names of each member of the Houshmandzadeh family.”
Houshmandzadeh is seeking a temporary restraining order that would require the woman to stay at least 500 yards away from him and his family, and to stop using his last name to try to gain access to his personal affairs, per the court documents.
He has yet to address the situation publicly.
Houshmandzadeh played in the NFL from 2001-’11, and spent most of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals after they selected him in the seventh round (with the 204th overall pick) in the 2001 NFL Draft.
He had a standout campaign in 2007, when he was selected to the Pro Bowl after tying for the league lead in receptions that season.
Houshmandzadeh also played for the Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens and Oakland Raiders.
