We’ve had James Bond, Austin Powers and even Johnny English but then came Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Based on the comic book by Mark Millar, Kingsman follows Gary “Eggsy” Unwin (Taron Egerton) as he’s recruited for a secret British spy agency by Harry Hart (Colin Firth).

The much-loved British action comedy, which co-stars Mark Strong and Michael Caine, combines the gadgets and suave dress sense of the early 007 movies with adult levels of bloody violence.

In the first adventure written and directed by Matthew Vaughn, the two spooks team up to take on Richmond Valentine (Samuel L Jackson), a wealthy megalomanic eco-terrorist, who plans to solve climate change by killing off most of humanity.

Kingsman: The Secret Service, its sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle and spin-off prequel The King’s Man are all streaming on Disney+ now.

Meanwhile, a sequel to the WW1-set The King’s Man is also in the works with a completed script.

The King’s Man: The Traitor King follows a fictionalised rise of Adolf Hitler with the support of the English aristocracy, as part of the franchise’s alternate history.

The Kingsman movies are streaming on Disney+ now.
