Phillip Schofield is believed to be planning on spending Christmas with his wife Stephanie Lowe and the pair’s two daughters, Molly, 30, and Ruby, 27, according to new reports.
The former This Morning host is yet to divorce Steph after coming out as gay three years ago – and it has now been claimed that there is still “a lot of love” between them.
The pair tied the knot 30 years ago – and Stephanie is said to have been supportive after Phillip opened up about his sexuality.
A source has now reportedly told Women’s Own: “Christmas is all about spending time with the people you love. While Phil and Steph are no longer together in the traditional sense, there’s still a lot of love between them.
“Phil spends a lot of time with his family, which includes Steph, so it’s natural that they’d spend the big day together.”
Express.co.uk has contacted Phillip’s representative for comment.
Phillip stepped down from his This Morning role in May after confessing that he’d had an affair with a younger male colleague while still married.
He resigned from ITV and was dropped by his agents at YMU with “immediate effect”.
Phillip then issued a lengthy and apologetic statement, writing: “I am making this statement via the Daily Mail, to whom I have already apologised personally for misleading, through my lawyer who I also misled, about a story which they wanted to write about me a few days ago.
“The first thing I want to say is: I am deeply sorry for having lied to them, and to many others about a relationship that I had with someone working on This Morning,” he explained.
“I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning.
“Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than a just a friendship.”
He added that while the relationship was “unwise”, it was “not illegal” and he assured fans that it was “now over”.
“I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family. I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife,” Phillip continued.
“I am resigning from ITV with immediate effect, expressing my immense gratitude to them for all the amazing opportunities that they have given me.
‘I will reflect on my very bad judgement in both participating in the relationship and then lying about it.”
Despite the scandal over his departure from This Morning, Phillip has shared that both his daughters have been supportive in helping him get through his tough time – and it has now been claimed that wife Stephanie is doing the same.
