We might have a list of inactives this weekend that includes a head coach.
Rams coach Sean McVay and his wife, Veronika Khomyn, are expecting the birth of their son to come “any day now,” he said at his press conference addressing the media earlier Friday.
Depending on when the baby comes, that could impact if he’s coaching from the sidelines on Sunday in the Rams’ Week 6 matchup vs. the Cardinals.
“Really feel fortunate that it’s been a smooth pregnancy, my wife has been incredible and, so, it hasn’t quite hit me yet,” the 37-year-old McVay added. “He’s active right now, it seems like he’s ready to come at any moment.
“What a blessing that will be.”

McVay, a Super Bowl-winning head coach, didn’t specify who the interim head coach would be, but it likely would be either Raheem Morris or Mike LaFleur.
LaFleur is the younger brother of Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and was hired as the Rams’ offensive coordinator in January after serving in the same role with the New York Jets in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Morris has been the team’s defensive coordinator since their 2021 Super Bowl season.
He also was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009-11, which included a 10-6 season in 2010, though they missed the playoffs.
Morris also had a 4-7 interim head coach record with the Falcons in 2020 prior to joining McVay’s staff.
The Rams enter their Week 6 contest with the Cardinals with a 2-3 record and are coming off a 23-14 loss against the Eagles in Week 5.
