Saquon Barkley has ‘animated discussion’ with Giants’ Brian Daboll

This may be the Giants’ season in a nutshell right now with the way things have gone.

Saquon Barkley appeared to show his frustrations on the sideline after getting into an “animated discussion with Brian Daboll,” Fox’s Tom Rinaldi reported during the broadcast.

It happened following a second quarter drive with the Giants trailing the rival Dallas Cowboys.

The star running back was stopped on a fourth and 2 from the Dallas four-yard line as the Giants came up empty after an interception.

Barkley continued to pace up and down the sidelines before he finally sat down, according to Rinaldi.

Sunday’s game was off to a rocky start as Giants faced a 28-0 deficit as the first half was coming to a close.

Barkley had only had one yard on seven carries at the the break and the Giants just 35 yards of offense.

The good news for the Giants was they avoided an injury scare to their best offensive lineman.

It looked as though they had lost left tackle Andrew Thomas to an injury that forced him to be carted off to the locker room, however, he eventually returned to the field in the second quarter.

It would have been the second time this season that the Giants had lost Thomas due to injury in a game against Dallas.

Thomas appeared to have hurt his left leg when Cowboys defensive tackle Mazi Smith took down Barkley.

Smith rolled into Thomas and his leg bent in an awkward direction. 

Thomas was down on the turf in pain for several minutes as Giants trainers attended to him on the field.

The tackle was able to walk off the field on his own and into the medical tent, but he was seen shortly after being taken to the locker room on a cart.
