Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden didn’t let her most recent health blow stop her from having a good time this weekend.
On Saturday night, the BBC contestants and their partners headed to Blackpool for the show’s annual special.
Although the 33-year-old had to pull out of the series after being diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, that didn’t stop her from getting into the Strictly spirit.
Once the contestants had finished their routines, they all enjoyed the show’s afterparty with Amy in attendance.
In images obtained by The Mirror, the star was seen with a huge smile on her face whilst walking with the help of crutches as she showcased her glittering orthopaedic boot.
Later on, Amy took to using a wheelchair that matched her Strictly inspired boot, she also wore a pink top underneath a black velvet blazer and a dazzling breast cancer brooch.
Earlier this week, the 33-year-old took to Instagram to reveal she won’t be able to take part in the Strictly Ballroom after hurting her foot.
Posting a snap pointing at her injury, she wrote: “Not the week I was hoping for since finishing chemo, Port out but unfortunately gained a boot for a fractured foot [sic].
“Absolutely gutted and heartbreaking as this means the palms for me to dance in the Strictly Ballroom this year are no longer possible.
“This is what has kept me going the past few months, 2023 is certainly not my ear, roll on 2024 I say!”
Before fracturing her foot, Amy revealed she had ended her last round of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in May.
The professional dancer told The Mirror she first discovered a lump while in the shower back in April, a day before going on her honeymoon.
Initially believing it could be related to her period, she decided to keep an eye on it before speaking to her GP at home due to the lump growing in size.
At the time she said: “Everything happened so fast within that day. I went on my own and didn’t tell anybody.
“But, when I was there, the nurse said to me, ‘You need to have somebody here’ and that’s when Ben found out.
“They told me it was looking very suspicious and to prepare for the worst, hope for the best. They did the biopsy and then we had a wait.”
However, since then the 33-year-old has got to ring the bell to mark the end of her chemo as she told fans it was a relief “like no other”.
The Strictly Come Dancing results show airs on BBC One Sunday at 7.20pm.
