Strictly: It Takes Two presenter Janette Manrara has revealed she and husband Aljaz Skorjanec have had to move out of their family home to temporary accommodation in London.

The star took to Instagram to share the news after thanking fans for their supportive messages about her recent Morning Live segment.

During the candid film for the BBC show, Janette addressed criticism she had received for returning to work just weeks after the birth of her first child, Lyra Rose, who is now three months old.

Speaking to her 596,000 followers, the professional dancer said: “Happy Saturday everybody! Strictly night, I’ll be watching tonight with Aljaz and Lyra, and Aljaz’s mum.

“I just wanted to quickly come on and say I’ve been receiving so many messages from so many parents who watched the video that I did for Morning Live; saying how much it touched them, or how they’ve gone through the same thing – how they’ve also been shamed for some of the choices they’d made – and just thanking me for saying something and speaking up about it.

“I’m just so grateful that I had the platform with Morning Live to do it, because I do think it’s a conversation to be had where we hopefully change government policies to allow fathers to also be more involved.

“Where we just kind of change that stigma that women should be at home and men should be at work, and we just kind of accept that there’s no one way system.

“I’m just really grateful that a lot of you felt touched by it and that I was able to be a voice in that way if you ever did get shame for what your choices were, but thank you for all of your messages.”

Janette then went on to detail her young family’s unconventional new living arrangements, as she and Aljaz prepare for their Dancing in a Winter Wonderland tour.

The new mum divulged: “So basically, what’s happened is we have rehearsals in London for three weeks before we open for Dancing in a Winter Wonderland.

“So we got an Airbnb down in London and moved everything with us – everything for Lyra, Aljaz and I, and then Aljaz’s sister came for the first week, and now Aljaz’s mother’s here this week, and then my mother arrives next week and she’ll be joining us for the tour.

“It’s quite a manic schedule because we’ve got rehearsals all day, I’ve still got It Takes Two, and so our time with Lyra is limited at the moment.

“But I’m with her every morning, we’re with her every evening, and we just do what we’ve got to do.

“And we’ve got this weekend together at home, which is nice.

“But it just goes to show there’s no one way and we are all just doing our absolute best to make it work, and the most important thing Lyra is happy and healthy and all ok.”
