Look what you made me do.

He might be more likely to nab a goal than a Grammy, but that didn’t stop Travis Kelce from bursting into song with his pop star lover.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, and Taylor Swift recently engaged in a little drunk karaoke, belting out a hilarious version of the 2000 Wheatus hit “Teenage Dirtbag,” while hanging out with some friends around a fire pit at Kelce’s home in Kansas City.

“There was some wine involved,” Kelce told WSJ. Magazine in a profile published on Monday, November 20. “For sure.”

According to one of Kelce’s pals who spoke to WSJ writer J. R. Moehringer, Swift, 33, and Kelce seem to be hitting all the right notes together as their relationship continues to blossom in the public eye.

“[They’re] peas in a pod,” the friend revealed. “[It was] a sweet magical moment.”

“Obviously I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them,” Kelce said of his relationship with Swift. “I’ve never dealt with it. But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.”

Elsewhere in the profile, Kelce opened up about how his whirlwind romance first began. The two-time Super Bowl winner credits someone on Swift’s team with playing “cupid” after he failed to give the “Karma” singer his number after her “Eras Tour.” His plan was to hand over the information on a friendship bracelet backstage in his hometown at Arrowhead Stadium.

“There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said], ‘Yo! Did you know he was coming?’ I had somebody playing Cupid,” he told the magazine. “She [later] told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out.”

Once a first date was finally in the works, Kelce admits that he was struck with a bit of nerves. “Everybody around me telling me ‘don’t f— this up’ and me sitting here saying ‘yeah, got it,’” he recalled. “That was the biggest thing to me: make sure I don’t say anything that would push Taylor away.”

“When I met her in New York,” he explained, “we had already kind of been talking, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there.”

And the rest as they say is history. According to Kelce, they immediately hit it off.

“Obviously I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them…. I’ve never dealt with it,” Kelce told the publication, noting he has to get used to the “scrutiny” that comes with a very public romance. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.”

“The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life,” Kelce told WSJ. “When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.”

“Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been f—ing mind-blowing” he added. “I’m learning every day.”
