Tomorrowland has officially confirmed a rare live performance from Eko Roosevelt. Crucially, the Cameroonian funk and disco legend will take to the Melodia Stage on Friday 24th July, in what becomes one of the festival’s most curatorially significant bookings of 2026.
Notably, the appearance marks Eko Roosevelt‘s first live show since his unforgettable 2022 set at Nyege Nyege Festival in Uganda. As a result, the Boom set is being framed as the rarest of cultural moments — a vanishingly scarce chance to catch a true African disco originator at festival scale.
Equally important, Roosevelt‘s catalogue is having a moment. Now in his late 70s, the artist has spent the better part of three decades as a chieftain in his hometown community of La Lobé, Cameroon — a role he has held since 1998. Furthermore, his musical legacy is built on a singular fusion of synth-heavy funk and Cameroonian soul, drawing on traditional African influences while folding in a deep set of dancefloor-focused sounds.
Meanwhile, the live announcement lands alongside major catalogue news. Two of Roosevelt‘s most cherished tracks — 1981‘s ‘Phone Me Tonight’ and ‘Lobé Mon Ami’ — are being reissued on 3rd July via new label Delirious Ears. Indeed, the reissue arrives just three weeks before the Tomorrowland show, making the timing impeccable.
Crucially, a new music video for ‘Phone Me Tonight’ has also dropped. The video was shot at the Lobé Waterfalls with his local community — a visual statement of how deeply Roosevelt‘s music remains tied to the land, people and rhythms of his Cameroonian home.
Furthermore, the booking is yet another sign of Tomorrowland‘s broader programming philosophy in 2026. Alongside mainstage juggernauts like David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Fisher, Miss Monique, Hardwell, Indira Paganotto, Chase & Status, Armin van Buuren and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, the Belgian festival continues to widen its curatorial lens.
