Wireless control and room optimization
The headline addition is KRK Mesh, which pairs each monitor with the KRK Control App on mobile. Engineers can wirelessly adjust system settings, compare EQ profiles, manage levels, and reconfigure the speaker after installation without physically accessing the unit. The system works whether the monitors are set up as a stereo pair or as part of a wider Dolby Atmos installation, with individual or grouped control across all connected monitors.
Room tuning has also been significantly expanded. The V Series Five offers 49 preset Boundary EQ combinations, and seven fully parametric PRO EQ filters, with three user presets storable for instant recall across different listening configurations.
Specs across the range
The V Series Five is built around custom woven Kevlar woofers in cast aluminum frames and a one-inch silk dome tweeter with an integrated waveguide for off-axis consistency. The electronics platform uses ESS converters, Analog Devices DSPs, and Pascal Class D amplifiers, delivering 280 watts to the low-frequency driver and 175 watts to the high-frequency driver per unit.
Three models cover the range. The V4 uses a four-inch woofer with frequency response from 48 Hz to 40 kHz and peaks at 113 dB SPL. The V6 uses a 6.5-inch woofer, extends to 40 Hz, and reaches 118 dB SPL. The V8, the largest, carries an eight-inch woofer, responds down to 32 Hz, and hits 121 dB SPL peak. All three include NEUTRIK combo XLR/TRS inputs and support both analog and AES3 digital connections.
KRK has been operating for close to four decades, now under Gibson ownership. The brand’s Rokit series established it as a reference point for professional and project studios, with artists and producers including Armin van Buuren among those associated with the monitors across its history. In 2023, Grammy-winning producer Scott Storch collaborated with KRK on a limited edition Classic 8 signature model, underscoring the brand’s reach beyond the studio engineering world into the producer community.
The 2024 Rokit Generation Five and 2025 Kreate Series brought the KRK approach to more accessible price points before the V Series Five targets the professional monitoring tier directly. The V Series Five is available now at krkmusic.com.
