The latest milestone is ‘Kilimanjaro’, his debut on Impressum, out 31 July. Acclaimed Italian duo Fideles founded the label, and it stands as one of melodic electronic music’s most respected imprints. Crucially, Fideles themselves have championed ‘Kilimanjaro’ across their live performances and official charts. That direct co-sign has put the track in front of audiences at major clubs and festivals worldwide, extending James de Torres’ reach well beyond his home country.
The release means a lot to him on a personal level. “I have known Daniele and Mario for many years, have been with them in several countries, hanging out, always coming to support and laugh and enjoy some great moments,” James de Torres says. “I always pursued the opportunity to release on Impressum, tried several times but it was in a moment where melodic was evolving into something different. Finally talking with Daniele I showed him ‘Kilimanjaro’ and he felt like he could play this tune, overall in the summer time as it gives a more Mykonos / Ibiza vibe than the winter club scene. To me it is a release that means a lot in a sentimental way as I have been a big fan of them for years, since we met in 2019.”
The release lands on the back of a strong studio year. Earlier in 2026, James de Torres teamed up with Italian producer Nihil Young for ‘NGL’. In addition, the record picked up support from internationally recognised artists including R3HAB, Korolova, Silver Panda, and Rebūke. Beyond that, it delivered on the charts. The track held its place in the Beatport Top 100 Hype Melodic Techno chart for a full month and spent one week inside the Beatport Top 100 Melodic Techno Releases, confirming its reach with DJs across the international circuit.
Meanwhile, his relationship with leading melodic techno labels extends further. James de Torres released ‘Let Me Drown’ on Germany’s renowned Einmusika Recordings, marking his third record for the label. Indeed, the EP has climbed steadily since release and is now approaching 100,000 streams on Spotify, one of the strongest-performing releases of his career to date.

Away from the studio, James de Torres has expanded his international presence through headline performances on multiple continents. Recently, he travelled to Argentina to headline events promoted by Levels and ShowMe, deepening his footprint in the South American electronic music scene. Furthermore, he joined the line-up at the Tomorrowland Store Ibiza, performing as part of the official music programme tied to one of the world’s most recognised electronic music brands.
Building an audience across two continents comes with a real strategy. “To me as a Spanish person, it is really important the Argentinian market so I am trying to push that scene as much as possible,” James de Torres explains. “They are well known to be not only good ravers but amazing supporters so, with no language barrier and similar cultures, I think I can fit there and be an important element in a future in the country like other foreign artists, lets say Nick Warren, Massano, Solomun, Colyn. They are legends in Argentina and I expect to become one. Meanwhile Europe reminds me of my roots. Both have different music styles, music taste, and also in terms of listeners is different, overall if we compare Argentina to Germany or Greece, nothing to do with each other. I really like to try myself changing my music selection to do a top performance everywhere. You won’t ever listen to the same set in my shows, never.”

Taken together, the credentials paint a clear picture. Releases on respected labels including Impressum and Einmusika Recordings, support from internationally established artists, sustained Beatport chart performance, and an expanding global touring schedule all point in the same direction. James de Torres is building a career that reaches well beyond his home country of Spain and continues to attract increasing attention internationally.
He is also crystal clear about what comes next. “It’s not easy to enter the Top 100 Beatport charts when you are a newcomer, or a person fighting for a new spot in the major leagues, also Spotify algorithms aren’t easy, and what about signing with top artists labels,” James de Torres says. “I am trying to focus on understanding and achieving my next goals in those terms. Better labels, more streams and more sales, but studying how it works, how to improve, how to be better day by day.”
“A year from now I see myself performing weekly, growing a proper nice fanbase, and consolidating in the scene as a guy that you can trust to make a good show, make people dance and have fans happy and wanting more from me. I know I will make it. These last months we have artists like Max Styler, Volkoder, Brunello, growing crazy after fighting a lot. They are my new references. I am going to be part of that list in the next few months.”
Ultimately, as melodic house and techno continues to evolve on a global scale, James de Torres is positioning himself among a new generation of artists steadily leaving their mark on the international electronic music landscape.
