Mike D 5D is the band project featuring Mike alongside his sons Skyler and Davis Diamond, plus Eddie Ruscha, Will Graefe and Milo Ruscha. Since debuting live earlier this year, the project has drawn praise from major UK press, who have called the shows “uproarious fun” with “inimitable joie de vivre” and “a joyous show melding punk, hip-hop, rave, electro”, with reviews highlighting the “playful and pioneering spirit” of the live experience.

The newly announced UK run lands in October, with stops at Brighton’s Mutations Festival at Chalk (Oct 24), Glasgow’s TV Studio (Oct 26), Manchester’s Albert Hall (Oct 27) and London’s Shepherds Bush Empire (Oct 28). The tour continues across Europe with Amsterdam (Melkweg, Oct 30), Lille (Aeroneff, Oct 31), Cologne (Carlswerk Victoria, Nov 1), Lausanne (Les Docks, Nov 3), Lyon (Transbordeur, Nov 4) and Brussels (Ancienne Belgique, Nov 5).

The US and Canada leg starts on the West Coast in September, with Santa Ana (The Observatory, Sept 20), Los Angeles (The Belasco, Sept 21), Santa Cruz (The Catalyst, Sept 25), Seattle (The Showbox, Sept 28), Vancouver (Vogue Theatre, Sept 30) and Portland (Crystal Ballroom, Oct 1), before pivoting east for Chicago (Riviera Theatre, Oct 16), Detroit (The Majestic, Oct 17), Philadelphia (Union Transfer, Oct 19) and Toronto (History, Oct 20). Earlier East Coast dates in Boston, Washington DC and Asheville are already sold out, with Atlanta (The Eastern, Sept 5), Queens (Knockdown Center, Sept 9) and Portola Music Festival in San Francisco (Sept 26) also on the schedule.

New single ‘Crypto’ is a spirited, tongue-in-cheek meditation on fraud and greed, becoming the fourth track lifted from ‘Thank You’ following ‘Switch Up’, ‘What We Got’ and ‘True Colors’. The album has already been described in advance as “a searing, lo-fi blast of analog synthesizer noise and smashed industrial beats, bearing the influence of dub and the dystopian New York punk band Suicide.”

Fans on Mike D 5D’s mailing list get early ticket access this week, with public on-sales opening Friday, July 24 at 10am local time. ‘Thank You’ is available to pre-order now via miked.lnk.to/ThankYou.
