Peggy Gou has officially released her brand-new single ‘Wo,man’ featuring Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr, out now via XL Recordings. The euphoric summer dancefloor anthem ushers in a new chapter for one of dance music’s most globally revered phenomena, and arrives alongside a one-day-only London pop-up called The Gou,tique.

The new single is propelled by the Korean star’s signature uplifting, celebratory production, anchored around the unforgettable “Adigidang dang dang di dang” hook — already on track to become one of the most infectious vocal moments of the summer. The Nigerian star brings her irresistible energy to the record, with the lyric written as a rallying cry that transcends gender and invites everyone onto the dancefloor.

Peggy Gou and Ayra Starr on the natural chemistry behind ‘Wo,man’

Both artists spoke openly about the joy behind the collaboration.

“When I was working on ‘Wo,man’, I knew I wanted a voice that could match the song’s uplifting energy for summer. The moment I shared it with Ayra, she got it instantly. Bringing our two worlds together felt completely natural, and she brought the perfect balance of sexiness and swag into the record. I hope this record brings fun summer memories to all who love it.” – Peggy Gou

“I love Peggy — she’s such a cool artist. It was so much fun to make this song with her. It felt like such a summer vibe — I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it!” – Ayra Starr

The accompanying music video was directed by acclaimed director Onda (Megan Thee Stallion, Big Sean, Pusha T), and the collaboration is rooted in an already-established creative relationship between the two. Earlier this year, the Korean producer lent her production touch to the Nigerian star’s single ‘Where Do We Go’, delivering a remix that instantly underlined their chemistry.

The new track continues a remarkable run for the Korean DJ. Recent highlights include her widely praised remix of Madonna’s ‘I Feel So Free’, alongside the cultural moment created when Drake and Sexyy Red paid homage to her global chart hit ‘(It Goes Like) Nanana’ by sampling the track on their ‘Cheetah Print’ collaboration from Drake’s ‘Maid Of Honour’ album. From ‘Starry Night’ to ‘Nanana’ to ‘Wo,man’, the Korean superstar continues to deliver one major summer anthem after another.

To celebrate the release, the Korean star is also opening The Gou,tique in London later today. The one-day-only pop-up will see her gift 200 mystery items from her personal collection alongside 100 items from archival Peggy Gou merchandise lines to lucky winners, soundtracked by some of her favourite DJs from her Gudu Records roster and accompanied by bespoke drinks.

The pop-up runs from 16:00 to 21:00 at Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes, 32-36 Kingsland Road, London E2 8DA. Entry and gifting will be on a first come, first served basis, so fans are encouraged to arrive early. Stream ‘Wo,man’ here.
