The ultimate celebration of electronic music in Bulgaria, AURA Festival returned for its second edition, making for the most spectacular of events this summer.

Returning for its second edition, and its most elaborate to date, AURA Festival 2026 was the perfect indication of how hard work and commitment to one’s cause can lead to the most outstanding end products. Paving the way for electronic music in Bulgaria, this event has now set the standard for what is to come, and when taking into consideration every little detail that has allowed this festival to truly flourish from the outset of its existence, it is not hard to see why success will follow every step of the way.

Over three days of pure euphoria and memories to last a lifetime, AURA Festival 2026 saw more than 10,000 people take over a park that borders Sofia’s international airport, a backdrop that added to the uniqueness of the festival, if we may add. Across three stages, and with 50+ artists ensuring that every moment was filled with that riveting feeling that only electronic dance music knows how to ignite, this truly was a celebration of everything our industry stands for, and beyond, for that matter.

Adding their name right on the map of iconic dance music events, the organisers ensured that this edition would be one for the books, and what better way to achieve that than by boasting the biggest festival lineup of international acts ever assembled in Bulgaria. Featuring 3 of the current Top 5 DJs in the DJ Mag Top 100 list, their intention was quite clear: to make AURA Festival a driving force within our community for years and years to come.

Accomplishing just that and so much more, Day One had the crowd in a frenzy of endless vibes, with Alok’s Bulgaria debut set igniting the Mainstage before being followed by one scintillating set after another, courtesy of Mahmut Orhan, Topic, and Youna. Moving on to Day Two, and with the likes of Dimitri Vegas, ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U and 999999999 delivering pure delirium along the way, AURA Festival was truly in full flow, and we just couldn’t get enough of everything unfolding right before our eyes. Closing out the Mainstage, Day Three saw Laura van Dam set the tone for an unforgettable ending before the ASOT boss himself, Armin van Buuren, brought the festival to a close in a manner that only he knows how.

Headlining acts that can elevate any event’s presence in an instant, AURA Festival offered the perfect balance between highly acclaimed artists and upcoming talents on both an international and local level. From the Mainstage’s undeniable aura to the intimacy found within the Tower and Moon Stages, this was a clear illustration of their broader vision, and as time progresses, this is one event that will leave its mark in a profoundly lasting way. A concept that came to life through Bulgaria’s biggest concert promoter, Fest Team has set out to redefine electronic music in their homeland, and when taking into consideration what they have already achieved with AURA Festival in just its second edition, it only makes sense that the natural progression is one of ultimate success.

Far more than just another festival on the wider spectrum, AURA Festival 2026 has set the tone for what’s to come, and with us having the privilege of experiencing this event firsthand, it comes naturally to say that this was a landmark moment. What follows will shape a nation’s perspective on our scene in a way that is as emphatic as it can be. Following their own vision of delivering “a vibrant community around contemporary dance culture,” AURA Festival and everyone behind it have upped the ante in the most immersive of fashions, and with Bulgaria now on the map of dance music excellence, we most certainly cannot wait to see what they have in store next.
